Strata CIX40 VoIP System Recognized for Outstanding InnovationImage

IRVINE, Calif., February 6, 2007 — Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD) today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine (www.itmag.com) has named its Strata® CIX™40 IP business communication system a recipient of a 2006 Product of the Year Award. Designed specifically for small companies, Toshiba’s Strata CIX40 supports up to 16 station ports and eight IP channels.  INTERNET TELEPHONY has been the VoIP Authority Since 1998™.

“We are honored to receive Internet Telephony Magazine’s 2006 Product of the Year award for our Strata CIX40 IP business communication system,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba’s Telecommunication Systems Division.  “Delivering VoIP to small businesses and branch offices, the Strata CIX40 features all the benefits of Toshiba’s larger Strata CIX systems at a size and price point that is perfect for small businesses.”Image

As with Toshiba’s other Strata CIX offerings, the new Strata CIX40 offers Toshiba’s FeatureFlexä adaptability capabilities, can be TDM-enabled, can be networked with any other CIX40 or larger Strata CIX system(s), and provides a smooth migration path.  It also gives the small business the ability to mix-and-match IP and digital endpoints on a single system.  Users have a choice of Toshiba’s IP and digital telephones, including its SoftIPT™ softphone for notebook PCs and PDAs and third-party SIP telephones (as tested by Toshiba).

“INTERNET TELEPHONY is proud to bestow Toshiba with a 2006 Product of the Year Award for its excellence in technological advancement and application refinements,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.  “Toshiba has proven its commitment to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace.  We’re proud to honor their team’s hard work and accomplishment.”

A full list of Product of the Year winners will be published in the February 2007 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine (www.itmag.com).
